Who doesn’t love to paint their face for the big game? Homecoming, spirit week and playoff games are a great time to get wild with your school spirit and go all out.

If you want to paint your face but are lacking one essential component: face paint, then try one of these simple homemade face paint recipes. They are easy to make, fun to wear and come off with simple soap & water.

Facepaint Recipe #1

You will need:

  • Cold Cream
  • Cornstarch
  • Food coloring (liquid or paste)

Mix together: 1/2 a cup of cold cream and 2 Tablespoons cornstarch. Add more cornstarch a little at a time until you get the desired consistency. Mix well. Divide mixture into small cups or egg carton compartments. Add food coloring to each one until you achieve a color that is about 2 times darker than you want it to appear on your face. Liquid food coloring works well, but paste food coloring will produce much more vivid colors. Apply it with cotton swabs, facial sponges or paint brushes. Remove with soap and water.

Facepaint Recipe #2

You will need:

  • Cornstarch
  • Flour
  • Light corn syrup
  • Water
  • Food coloring (liquid or paste)

Mix 3 Tablespoons cornstarch and 1 Tablespoon flour together. Stir in 3/4 cup light corn syrup and 1/4 cup water and mix until smooth. Divide mixture into several paper cups and use food coloring to tint. Apply it with cotton swabs, facial sponges or paint brushes. Remove with soap and water.
